Here Comes The 2014-2015 Season!

Curling at SCC

We are already gearing up for our 2014-2015 season and we have some exciting plans in the works!

Our ice crew has been working hard all summer to make repairs as part of our continued efforts to constantly improve our ice shed. They will fire up the actual ice making efforts in earnest in early September with hopes that we will be able to hit the ice by October 1st!

Our first on ice events will our Open Houses which are set for October 3rd and 4th where we will build on the tremendous response we had at our Olympic Open Houses in February. We’ll officially kick off our season with our club Opening Meeting on October 7th where it is always great to see everyone after all their summer fun. Our in-house bonspiels will begin the week of October 13th with the Robbins (the 13th), the Kilt and Kiltie (the 14th) and the Red & Blue (the 16th). We are very excited about the invitational bonspiels we will be hosting this year and we hope they will bring many of you out-of-town curlers to visit us! Two of the biggest will be the Ross Tarlton (November 6th – 8th) and the Raymond Kayser 5 and Under (February 12th – 15th). We just announced the dates and details of our Schenectady Open Bonspiel (“The SOB”) which will be held from January 28th through February 1st and you can find out more about that right here on our website!

So we hope you are all getting as excited about hitting the ice as we are! We’ll be updating this site with all the dates and details for our leagues and bonspiels as soon as they are fit to print. Here’s to a fantastic 2014-2015 season….and good curling!
