A Event Brooks Medal Winners: Plain Old Curlers Paddy Coburn (skip), Bill Grzybowski (vice), John Gephart (second), and Joe Angelli (lead).
After a year's absence, the 10 & Under Bonspiel returned in December for a weekend of good curling and plenty of socializing. Originally created as a men's event to allow Dykes teams that had aged out of the 5 & Under world to continue playing and socializing together, as well as current teams to prepare for the current season's event, the bonspiel became an open event, allowing Kayser and Childs teams the same opportunities. And while the competition has always been robust, it has also always been important that everyone have fun and enjoy good food, good drink, and good companionship.
This year's A Event, the Brooks Medal was won by the Plainfield Curling Club's 'Plain Old Curlers', skipped by Paddy Coburn. They defeated 'A Sweep at the Wheel', skipped by Pat Howard.
The B Event, the Garber Medal, was won by the Bucks County's Team Brady, skipped by Kevin Brady. They defeated 'Well Swept Secret', skipped by Tim Lowden.
The C Event, the Griffin Medal was won by the Ardsley Curling Club's Team Spensieri, skipped by Michael Spensieri. They defeated Albany Curling Club's Team Oettinger, skipped by Rich Oettinger.
The D Event, the Good Neighbor Medal, was won by Bucks Rocks!, skipped by Jim Fannon. They defeated Schenectady/Bucks Team Wietsma, skipped by Zach Wietsma.
The E Event, played on Saturday night for the entertainment of the crowd, was won by Schenectady's Team Stoffer, skipped by Chad Stoffer. The 'place' team was 'The Ice Giants' skipped by Dan O'Connell. The 'show' team was Albany's Team Clark, skpped by Lisa Clark.
We look forward to seeing everyone again at next year's event!
