Schenectady Curling Club Media Day
Come and learn about one of the world's fastest growing sports
The 2018 Winter Olympics starts on February 9th, are you ready to answer your viewers and readers questions on curling? Did you know that mixed doubles is a new Olympic sport this year in addition to traditional curling?
In preparation for the Olympics, the Schenectady Curling Club will be hosting a Media Day on Saturday, February 3rd from 1pm to 4pm. We will be teaching and demonstrating the fundamentals of curling. We will also review rules, history, ice-preparation, and the science of the sport.
Test your curling skills! It looks easy on TV, but can you throw a rock across the hog line? Club members will be on hand to give lessons and demonstrations, as well as interviews. Snacks will be provided.
Anyone who will be going out on the ice should bring clean athletic shoes. Boots, heels, and dress shoes will not be permitted on the ice. Warm, athletic wear is recommended.
