40th Annual Jackie Caron Bonspiel, November 1-4

Nancy Wurth was a B event finalist in the 40th Annual Jackie Caron Bonspiel (women's spiel) at the Jacques Cartier Curling Club in Quebec City, Quebec. Her teammates were skip Elaine deRyk of Otterburn Memorial Legion CC, second Debra Ann Gorman out of Jacques Cartier CC, and lead Susan Reisenberg, who called the games, of Town of Mount Royal CC. They lost the final lost to a solid Dominion (provincial club championship) team from Sherbrooke. Instead of having pins, this bonspiel awards art objects and jewelry to the winners and finalists, so Nancy received a beautiful hand made wood and stone sculpture of a duck.

32 teams competed this year from 17 different clubs. Usually only 24 teams play but since because it was the 40th anniversary the field was increased. This was Nancy's 5th trip to this bonspiel, having won the first event and making a final each year in one of the four events. She said that this was a great spiel in a great city! Here are the full results.
