Utica - Albany Team Takes Home the Win!

Congratulations to the teams that made up the Utica – Albany side of the U.S.A. Friendly who became the winners this past weekend at the Schenectady Curling Club! The U.(Utica Curling Club)S.(Schenectady Curling Club)A.(Albany Curling Club) Friendly was recently revived after a 10 year hiatus. This women’s event is held yearly on a rotating basis at all three clubs. This year’s event was held at SCC on October 26th. The two travelling clubs are pitted against the home club in this pointspiel. There were two matches at 10am and 1pm with a lovely lunch in between. After the two sets of matches Utica/Albany won the spiel with a total score of 60.25 points over Schenectady’s 48 points. Great job Utica and Albany!

Brooms Up Curling Supplies Comes to SCC

Are you in need of some new curling swag? Does your gripper act more like a slider at this point? Are you new to the sport and want your own gear instead of hunting for your favorite club broom before each game? Well then you are in luck!

Need a good laugh? Well then we have the event for you! Join us for an for an evening of comedy, dueling bagpipes and just general merriment right at SCC!

We are very excited to present the comic stylings of comedians Jimmy Q (Sirius XM Radio/ MNN-TV) and Rich Shultis (Mayhem and Madness/WPDH Morning Show) to tickle your funny bone. And…you won’t want to miss the majesty (and cunning) of our dueling bagpipers!

The show starts at 8:00pm but the doors open at 7:00pm if you would like to grab your seat and have a few cocktails to prepare for the fun ahead! You might want to get your tickets early as seats are limited. This event is a fundraiser for our webstreaming project so why not laugh yourself silly while supporting the club?
